To the dad at the movie theatre:

"The Dark Knight" is rated PG13 which means "Parents are strongly cautioned to give special guidance for attendance of children under 13 - Some material may be inappropriate for young children." Thus this very intense movie was really not appropriate for your 8 and 10 year old children (let's not get started on the fact that if there was a single boob shot the movie would have gotten a R rating. Because, clearly, boobs are more damaging the psyche of children than see someone's face burned off or a villain very convincingly threatening the life of a child). This should have become apparent the first time they covered their eyes and cried because they didn't "want to see this part!" In case that wasn't clear enough they did tell you multiple times they were scared and wanted to leave.

You might have noticed, as the rest of us did, that during the less intense parts they were talking loudly and roaming around the theatre. This should be a very obvious sign that its time to leave the movie because perhaps they are not mature enough to handle going to an adult movie.

If you can't stop your kids from talking or from using their chairs as a jungle gym then that is another sign its time to leave.

I came so very close to telling you off. Only the presence of my husband, and that I most definitely would have embarrassed him, saved you from a verbal lashing. Count yourself lucky this time.

Signed,

Cranky pregnant lady that is pissed that her last movie for the next year or more was ruined

we had a similar experience last night on our 3rd date night since dd was born - went to see a rated R movie that was full of loads of raunchy language and some woman brought her (what looked to be) 5 and 8-year-old kids with her :(

Just wanted to say hello and that I am thinking of you. I hear from all the murmuring on the web that you might be having a baby today :)

Best of wishes for a smooth and easy labor.

What a beautiful name you've picked out!
