Local. It's what's for dinner.
or breakfast
Steamed kale topped with Russian banana fingerling potatoes, uncured Applegate Farms ham, lionsmane mushroom, and sweet onion, cherry tomatoes, and Tillamook cheddar cheese. Served with locally roasted coffee and Darigold creamer. Quite delicious.
It's also what's for snacks
This is our motley crew of rainbow carrots. I broke a few during harvest and we didn't get many white ones. We will be eating these fresh since most varieties turn orange during cooking. I definitely want to grow these again!

1, 2, 3, 4...
1. I'm knitting a secret right now. Should be done by tomorrow. Hope s/he likes it.
2. We've eaten some form of Tex/Mex the last 3 nights in a row.
3. My kids are crazy but it's too hot to be outside.
4. I ate a bunch of Tootsie Rolls today. No justification for that either.
5. I really need a trip to the coast soon.
6. I have a lot of zucchini and need to figure out something to do with it all.

Even when you think you know better, you don't.
Yesterday I acquired some lovely Eidos sock yarn at the Sock Summit which was marked "Charmides" though from looking at their website I think it looks more like 'Calliope'. I frustratingly wound it into a ball (my ball winder doesn't handle sock weight well and my swift is jenky) then cast on for Circle Socks which has been sitting in my queue for a really long time.
I thought I knew better than the designer so I'm frogging and starting again for the third time.
I'm upset at my own stupidity and bull headedness (yes, I realize that is not a word) and will accept condolences in the form of this, these, or this charming fellow.
It really is beautiful yarn so starting over is preferrable to tossing it into a forgotten corner.
