Anti-vegan Father's Day Dinner

We started with a vegan favorite of mine actually. Grilled portabella mushrooms. Drizzle both sides with olive oil and sprinkle generously with kosher salt. Grill both sides until tender.

I didn't get a picture though.

Then we had a Caesar Salad with homemade dressing which I'll hone and try again

It was 1 egg yolk beaten, 2-3 T olive oil, 2 T lemon juice and a few drops of Worcestershire sauce. Once I salted the salad it was really good. I'll add garlic next time and more Worcestershire along with the salt.

Then we had sirloin

Which was covered in shrimp with parmesan sauce

Looks good!

This was preceded by playing outside.

This was all Saturday though.

Sunday we got up while dad slept in. I made a cherry streusel pie, also not photographed, and then when daddy got up we had apple pancakes and bacon. Sis and dad also sampled the pie.

Then we headed out for a bit.

After getting over how loud it was there, Grey had a good time.

She really liked it when one machine payed out 75 tickets

Afterwards we went to grandma and grandpa's for dinner.

No pictures but I gorged on watermelon and pasta salad (filled with broccoli and zucchini!) along with another nice steak.

We actually have steak leftover that I'll broil to reheat tonight. Steak 3 nights in a row! Very un-vegan. We don't normally eat like this so its been a special treat for Shawn who's favorite meals generally include big chunks of meat and dark green salads.
