Mother to a son
When I had my first baby, a daughter, who was sweet and gentle I didn't understand little boys at all. I made some assumptions I'm embarrassed to admit today (mostly thoughts in regards to their lack of parenting skills).
Now I am a mother to a boy. I see his energy, his exuberance, even his aggressiveness, but I also see his love, his tenderness, his innocence. I don't understand it all but I do understand boys a little bit better thanks to the gift of my son.
